About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Plano will bring their passion to the team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment. This PRN Nights position offers self-scheduling to promote work-life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth. The Emergency Department is a 52-bed unit with over 41,000 patient visits annually, serving as a Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke center. The unit boasts a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership, committed to the Texas Health Plano 30-Minute Promise to alleviate patient wait times.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS -Basic Cardiac Life Support -Prior to providing independent patient care & maintained quarterly—required
  • ACLS-Advance Cardiac Life Support- within 90 days required
  • PALS-Pediatric Advance Life Support- within in 90 days required
  • TNCC-Trauma Nursing Core Course –within 12 months required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • One year of Emergency experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred
