Registered Nurse, NICU
About The Position
The NICU is a 15-bed, Level III unit providing specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns, including infants born as early as 23 weeks' gestation. The multidisciplinary team works closely with Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapists, and Registered Dietitians to provide comprehensive, family-centered care. Lead the charge in delivering compassionate, quality patient care that makes a real difference! You'll be the orchestrator of the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with creativity and precision. Collaborate seamlessly with your healthcare team to communicate vital patient and family information, keeping everyone in sync. Delegate and supervise care with confidence, document like a pro, and empower patients and families through engaging teaching. When things don't go as planned, you'll be the problem-solver who finds innovative solutions and champions their implementation to get back on track with patient goals. Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
- Health care provider certification (BCLS)
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in NICU, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
- Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
- Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
