This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU. The nurse will be responsible for the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and will need to pass a Relias EKG exam. Patient diagnoses include ischemic strokes (post-thrombectomy, post-tPA), neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, ICP monitoring (EVDs/bolts), and neurotrauma (GSW, MVC, spinal cord injuries). Special procedures and unit details include vasoactive medications, central line/arterial line management, ICP monitoring, CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions. Special equipment includes EVD and bolt. The nurse will complete 10 hours of stroke education during orientation, which can include NIHSS (3 hours if taken in the year), and new provider or renewal ACLS. The facility is a Magnet & Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation and 1,266 total staffed beds.
