About The Position

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in a Neuro ICU setting. The role requires performing detailed neurological and critical care assessments, monitoring patient conditions, and administering medications and treatments. The nurse will respond to changes in patient condition, collaborate with healthcare teams, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with night shifts, and requires every other weekend coverage and holiday coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Active New York State RN License/Registration
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience within the past 2 years
  • At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred
  • Experience in hospitals of similar or greater size and acuity preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills

  • Previous Neuro Critical Care experience in a high-acuity facility
  • EPIC EMR proficiency
  • Strong critical care and trauma nursing background
  • Excellent clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills
