About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care experience, excellent clinical assessment skills, and the ability to manage complex patient conditions in a fast-paced acute care environment. Nurses may be assigned to various adult ICU specialties based on experience and departmental needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Must maintain all required certifications throughout the assignment.
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent Critical Care or ICU nursing experience within the past two years required.
  • Experience in a large acute care hospital setting required.
  • Experience working with critically ill adult patients required.
  • Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in managing complex patient conditions with minimal orientation and supervision.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Epic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience highly preferred.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in an ICU setting.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings.
  • Operate and manage critical care equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities as required.
