About The Position

The Research Institute is dedicated to world-class research across a wide range of children's health concerns. This temporary part-time (0.3 FTE) Registered Nurse position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is for a term until May 2027. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families, adhering to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit. The role involves providing appropriate learning experiences for patients and families to promote wellness and achieve an optimal quality of life, while maintaining competence and developing professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Current CPR and NRP Certification (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years neonatal experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated critical care ventilation skills (Preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)
  • Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing (Preferred)

Responsibilities
