Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.) Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Clinical Practice Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS POSITION IS COMPRISED OF DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CT/MRI/Angiography. NURSES WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK IN ALL GEOGRAPHIC AREAS. Note: Please be advised that there are staggered start and finish times for day and evening shifts on this unit: Day shifts are between the hours of 0700 and 1845 - Evening shifts are between the hours of 1415 and 2345 - There are also standby on call shifts on this unit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.
  • Must have no contraindications that would limit the ability to perform in a magnetic field (e.g. Pacemaker, middle ear prosthesis, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing an I.V. required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Two (2) years recent Medical and/or Surgical and/or ICU and/or Emergency and/or Operating Room nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years recent nursing experience with EKG and pressure monitoring required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Adult Conscious Sedation/Procedural Sedation Education must be obtained when the opportunity is scheduled by the employer, or as otherwise mutually agreed to between the nurse and employer.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs.
  • Administers prescribed medical treatments.
  • Takes a leadership role within the health care team.
  • Coordinates patient care and discharge.
  • Works in all geographic areas within Diagnostic Imaging (CT/MRI/Angiography).
