About The Position

Trillium Health Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Diagnostic Imaging Department. This is a temporary full-time position, expected to last approximately 18 months. The role involves assessing, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as performing delegated medical acts within the Imaging Department. The nurse will collaborate with allied health disciplines and physicians, providing clinical and technical support. Key responsibilities include patient care related to IV initiation, medication administration, patient-controlled analgesia, central venous access devices, blood glucose monitoring, nasogastric tubes, wound management, infection control, and monitoring blood values.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized College - School of Nursing
  • Coronary 1 required
  • Current certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
  • Current BLS and ACLS required
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience within the ED, ICU, and/or PACU population required
  • Demonstrates strong attention to patient and family-centred care and establishing therapeutic relationships
  • Previous experience in providing and delivering patients and families with educational teaching as applicable
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication skills and team work
  • Computer literacy required
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably hold a Baccalaureate degree
  • Coronary 2 preferred
  • Experience in the OR and/or Radiology environment an asset
  • Evidence of on-going professional development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing care and performing those delegated medical acts as required in the Imaging Department
  • Participates as a colleague with allied health disciplines and physicians by providing clinical and technical support
  • Demonstrate knowledge, experience and the ability to care for patients with the initiation of IV’s, administration of medication above the drip chamber, patient controlled analgesia, central venous access devices, blood glucose monitoring, naso-gastric tubes, wound management skills, routine infection control practices, normal and abnormal blood values
