About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The role involves remote monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of various patient conditions including dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures. The unit has an isolation area for COVID patients and provides multi-level care, including stepdown services. Contract staff are expected to work storm/hurricane teams and may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with pre-assignment to units as needed. RTO is limited to 7 days maximum. Floating is required, and weekend coverage of 12-16 shifts per contract is expected. The unit utilizes Pyxis for medications, Epic for documentation, and SBAR for communication. Unit orientation is 24 hours, with hospital orientation including daily classes in the first week. Navy/White scrubs are required. Passing EKG testing prior to the start date is mandatory for this specialty.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience
