About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care, monitor cardiac and medical-surgical patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, telemetry experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State RN License required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required.
  • Minimum of 18 months of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required.
  • Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient care experience required.
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and nursing documentation.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients in accordance with established standards of practice.
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and clinical progress.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Participate in discharge planning and care transition processes.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, disease management, and post-discharge care.
  • Serve as a resource and support for unit staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
  • Promote patient safety and adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies.
