About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care, monitor cardiac and medical-surgical patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, telemetry experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State RN License required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required.
Minimum of 18 months of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required.
Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient care experience required.
Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
Effective communication and patient education skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and nursing documentation.
Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Nice To Haves

Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients in accordance with established standards of practice.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and clinical progress.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
Communicate significant changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
Participate in discharge planning and care transition processes.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, disease management, and post-discharge care.
Serve as a resource and support for unit staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
Promote patient safety and adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental activities.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies.
