About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our MS/Tele unit. This role requires proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement, which are mandatory skills for all RNs at Unity. The unit specializes in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care. Day/Evening shifts have a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1, with a potential stretch to 6-7:1. Night shifts have a ratio of 6-7:1, potentially stretching to 8-10:1 if staff call in. PCTs are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. The position requires interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, peripheral line care/management, and proficiency with various oxygen delivery systems and non-invasive airway management. Experience with isolation precautions is also necessary. The primary patient diagnosis is cardiac-related. Epic charting is utilized.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy.
• Mandatory competency with placing IVs.
• BLS certification.
• 1 year of experience.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams.
• Experience with Peripheral Line Care/Management.
• Proficiency with Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, and Non-invasive airway management.
• Experience with Isolation Precautions.
• Experience in MS/Tele specialty.
• Familiarity with cardiac unit patient diagnoses.
• Proficiency in Epic charting.

Responsibilities

• Will float within scope to meet facility needs/float between like units.
• Will try to accommodate block schedule but not guaranteed.
• No locals (75 miles).
