About The Position

This is a 3-month contract travel nursing assignment on a Med/Surg Ortho floor in Greenville, South Carolina. The nurse must have Med/Surg and telemetry experience because they may be floated to MS/Tele floors when needed. The position is onsite and scheduled for day shifts, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30. Weekend coverage is required. The nurse will care for patients undergoing a range of specialty procedures and conditions, including ENT surgery, plastics, general surgery, surgical oncology, and colorectal procedures. The role also involves managing specialized equipment and floating to other qualified units or campuses when requested due to census needs. Travelers will float only where they are qualified and have demonstrated and documented the required competencies. The unit reviews first-time travelers based on experience. A flu vaccine is required, with no exemptions. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Visa sponsorship or transfer of sponsorship is not available. The listed pay rate is $45.00–$50.60 per hour.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
At least 1 year of Epic experience.
Proficiency with the Omnicell medication system.
BLS certification.
Active South Carolina RN license.
Ability and availability to work weekends.
Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship or sponsorship transfer is unavailable.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care for patients requiring special procedures, including ENT surgery (tracheostomies and laryngectomy), plastics (I&D and Wound VACs), general surgery (bowel obstructions, mastectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gunshot wounds, overdose, and hernia repair), surgical oncology (pancreatitis), and colorectal procedures (colectomy and colostomy).
Operate and manage Wound VACs, PCA, PICC lines, drains, and ostomy equipment.
Provide weekend coverage as required.
Float to other units and/or campuses when requested due to census concerns, limited to units for which the nurse is qualified and tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented.
