About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit, specifically focusing on Orthopedics. The unit is a 26-bed adult orthopedic spine unit that handles spinal surgeries and integrates pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support. Patient diagnoses are diverse, including Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac conditions, low-risk Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIAs), diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), and Pulmonary Embolism (PE). Special procedures performed include bedside lumbar puncture, post-catheterization care (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post-renal biopsy, CT Angiography, and Heparin drips. While the facility prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses if qualified and competent.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience required.
• Must have Ortho Experience.
• 1 year of EPIC experience required.
• Must have an active SC or multistate license.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult patients on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit.
• Manage patients with diverse diagnoses including Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.
• Assist with special procedures such as bedside lumbar puncture, post Cath (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips.
• Float to other units or campuses as needed, provided the staff member is qualified and has documented competencies.
