About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This role requires proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement, which are mandatory skills for all RNs at Unity. The position involves cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and utilization of Rapid Response Teams. Responsibilities also include IV therapy, peripheral line care and management, and respiratory support such as nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management. Nurses will care for patients with cardiovascular conditions and wounds, and must be familiar with isolation precautions. The unit utilizes Hoyer lifts and wound vacs. Day/Evening shift nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 (stretching to 6-7), and Night shift ratios are 6-7:1 (stretching to 8-10 if staff calls in). The role includes participation in the rapid response team. PCTs are available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.

Requirements

BLS Required
MS/Tele Required
1 year of recent experience
Every other weekend required
Must have mandatory competency with phlebotomy.
Must have mandatory competency with placing IVs.

Responsibilities
