About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mental Health Unit, working the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The RN will serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring and recording patient condition using computerized documentation systems, administering medications within the scope of practice, assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team, and educating patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• License to practice professional nursing in the state of Kentucky.
• Current BCLS and ACLS upon hire.
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of your healthcare team.
• Teach patients and families to understand conditions, medications and self-care skills.
