About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Registered Nurse for a 13-week night-shift contract opportunity in Utica, New York. This role supports adult medical-surgical patients on the 6th floor and requires strong post-surgical care experience, EPIC documentation skills, travel nursing experience, and flexibility to float as needed.
Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse License Required
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- AHA BLS/BCLS Certification Required
- Must be available for night shift schedule, navy blue scrub requirement, and floating as assigned
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for adult Med Surg and post-surgical patients
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately using EPIC
- Care for patients with abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric surgery needs
- Manage IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes, and related medical-surgical equipment
- Collaborate with the care team and float to appropriate units as needed based on competency
