About The Position

We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. This position is based on a busy Stroke Stepdown unit, providing high-quality nursing care for patients with neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and general medical conditions while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

• Active New York RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience with Stroke Stepdown experience.
• Current BLS and NIHSS Certifications required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and ability to work night shifts and floating assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for Medical Surgical and Stroke Stepdown patients.
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor neurological and medical conditions.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR and update individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes.
• Float to other assigned units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care.
