About The Position
One (1) temporary full time Registered Nurse position is available in the Medicine department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Requirements
- Current College of Nurses certificate of competence
- Current certificate in BCLS & ACLS
- Certified to start IV’s and give IV meds
- Defibrillation and Cardiac pacing certification required
- Coronary Care Course or equivalent
- Recent experience in medical nursing including palliative care
- Well developed assessment skills necessary
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
Nice To Haves
- CVADS (Central Venous Access Devices) and 12 lead ECG preferred
- Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary for effective patient and staff interaction in a busy, demanding environment
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and performance development (including focus on palliative care)
Responsibilities
- Serve in capacity of charge nurse
- Contribute towards achievement of unit goals and objectives
