About The Position

The Complex Intervention Unit (CIU) is an 18-bed adult acute care (Med-Surg) level unit. The unit is divided into a 6-bed Acute Care side and a 12-bed side that will serve patients with a medical condition that necessitates an inpatient stay while also having a mental or behavioral health component to their care. Care Team Members (CTMs) working on the acute care side will have a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio, and CTMs on the Behavioral Health side will have a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. When fully staffed, the unit will have a free float charge that assists both sides of the unit, as well as patient care technicians. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams.

Requirements

• 1 year of Medical Surgical (MS) experience.
• Experience with Epic charting system.
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• All RTO must be included at time of submission.

• Block scheduling may be accommodated upon manager's approval and dependent on unit needs.
• Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions.

• Participate in holiday rotation.
• Be available for on-call duties as required.
