This is a 13-26 week contract position for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical unit. The role requires the nurse to be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:5-6 and to work 12-hour day shifts. The position accepts both 36 and 48-hour work weeks. RTO is limited to 7 days maximum for Aya Auto Offer. The nurse may be required to float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients. A weekend requirement of every other weekend is in place. Contract staff will be assigned to and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, potentially reporting to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with preassignment to units as needed. Patient diagnoses include severe injury to bones, joints, and/or soft tissue, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, pain, neurological trauma/nerve damage, subdural hematoma. Unit systems include Pyxis and EPIC. Unit orientation is 12 hours, with 16 hours of organizational education. Navy scrubs are required. EKG testing must be passed prior to the start date for this specialty.
