About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients on a Medical/Surgical unit, including those with stroke stepdown needs. This role requires a candidate with at least 2 years of relevant experience, including travel nursing experience. The unit commonly treats patients with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and general medical/surgical conditions. Specialty equipment used on the unit includes IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes.

Requirements

• Updated resume demonstrating 2+ years of Medical/Surgical experience.
• Includes stroke stepdown experience.
• Travel nursing experience is required and must be documented on the resume.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Nursys license verification report showing an active NY RN license and all other active RN licenses.

Nice To Haves

• NIHSS may be obtained prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients on a Medical/Surgical unit.
• Care for patients with stroke stepdown needs.
• Administer care for common diagnoses including Stroke, Altered mental status, Renal conditions, Dialysis, COPD, CHF, Isolation, General Medical/Surgical conditions, Pneumonia, and Pulmonary conditions.
