About The Position
This is a Registered Nurse position for a Medical Surgical unit. The role involves caring for acute care patients with a variety of diagnoses including Infection, Renal, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Oncology, Ortho, Bariatric, pre-transplant, observation, and Psychology. The unit experiences high patient turnover, meaning nurses may work with many patients in a single shift. Nurses on this unit receive additional training to care for a diverse range of patients and conditions. The facility is a Short Term Acute Care Magnet & Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation and 1266 total staffed beds.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Must pass Relias EKG exam.
- Ability to interpret and manage Dysrhythmias.
- Ability to perform Tracheostomy care/management.
- Must be able to float within the service line.
- No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract.
- Locals within a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Pending License accepted.
Nice To Haves
- CPI certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for acute care patients with diagnoses including Infection, Renal, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Oncology, Ortho, Bariatric, pre-transplant, observation, and Psychology.
- Manage patients with high turnover rates.
- Perform Tracheostomy care/management.
- Interpret and manage Dysrhythmias.
- Float within the service line to meet facility needs.
- Utilize Alaris pumps, CPAPs, BIPAPs, Bladder scanners, Lifts, Hover mats, EKGs, and Scales.
