Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Urology/Genitourinary - Full Time Nights
About The Position
This is a Full Time Nights position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Urology/Genitourinary department at Texas Health Dallas. The department is a 24-bed inpatient unit focused on urology and genitourinary care. Nurses on this unit work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide life-saving care to a diverse patient population. The role involves utilizing the Nursing Process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care, incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures. Maintaining continuity of patient care between shifts and during transfers is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- Nursing Diploma required, OR Associate Degree in Nursing required; OR BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BCLS – upon hire – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- ACLS – upon hire required.
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
- 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of nursing residency

Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process: assesses the patient, plans the care of the patient, intervenes as appropriate, evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
