Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Neuro
About The Position
This is a Registered Nurse position in a Medical Surgical - Neuro unit. The role involves caring for patients with Neuro Surgical Procedures and Neuro diagnoses. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed. The unit uses Pyxis for medication, SBAR for communication, and EPIC for documentation. Contract staff will receive 2 orientation shifts on the unit after hospital-based orientation. Scrubs should be navy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience with Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC.
- Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Ability to work a minimum of 12-16 weekend shifts per contract.
- Willingness to work as part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team.
- Willingness to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
- Willingness to float.
Nice To Haves
- Traveler experience not required.
- NIH certification preferred.
- Neuro experience preferred.
