More about our team 12‑bed Medical/Surgical & Post‑Op unit Nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 1:5–6 Patient population includes post‑op spine, orthopedic, ENT, abdominal, thoracic, vascular, and urology cases, along with general medical patients Close‑knit, collaborative environment with strong nurse‑physician teamwork Growing department with future expansion plans as surgical services continue to expand
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- current VA or compact state license
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in clinical area preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
