About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN), Med/Surg Post Surgical. This is a Full-Time position working Nights. A $10,000 Sign-On Bonus is available to well-qualified applicants. The schedule is 3x12, with shifts from 7p-7a, and rotating weekends. As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team, you’ll support those in our facilities who are interfacing and providing care to our patients and community members to positively impact our mission of making communities healthier®. Our Post‑Surgical Medical–Surgical Unit is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of patients recovering from general, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. The unit also supports medical–surgical overflow as needed. Nurses on this unit typically manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, providing comprehensive postoperative monitoring, pain management, and coordinated interdisciplinary care.

Requirements

  • Current Alabama or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Basic Life Support required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred
  • Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies medical surgical needs
  • Performs post operative assessments
  • Performs wound care
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Assists in multidisciplinary collaborations
