Registered Nurse - Med Surg Oncology
About The Position
The Oncology Unit is a 30-bed unit, with 24 private rooms, and maintains a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. While oncology is the primary specialty, the unit also cares for patients undergoing bariatric, gynecological, and colorectal surgery. After six months, nurses have the opportunity to obtain their Chemo Certification, providing an opportunity to further develop their oncology knowledge and skills. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Opportunity to obtain Chemo Certification after six months.
Responsibilities
