Registered Nurse Manager (RN) - Med Surg
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Manager provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), who is responsible for nursing and other designated patient-care functions and services across the hospital. The manager assists with assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice at the unit level and assumes 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas. The role supports the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and effective resource management related to patient care. The position calls for an active registered nurse license in the state of residence or practice, strong interpersonal and communication skills, leadership ability, and hospital operational experience. The manager serves as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession and performs related duties as required.
Requirements
- Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence or practice.
- Academic degree in nursing.
- At least 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager, full-time charge nurse, or in a related position.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
