About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - LTC for a 13-week travel assignment in Cordova, AK 99574. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a long-term care setting. The role requires evaluating patient health status, implementing care plans, administering medications, monitoring patients, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals. Additionally, the nurse will assist patients with daily living activities, respond to emergencies, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure a safe work environment. Advocacy for patient rights and needs is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of RN with LTC experience.
  • Must have ACLS certification
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
  • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • PALS certification is desired and preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the patient’s health status and implement appropriate nursing care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the patient’s physician
  • Monitor and record patient’s medical condition and response to treatment
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the nature of their condition and the steps necessary for health improvement
  • Coordinate with other health care professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers for comprehensive care
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including meals, bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Respond to emergencies and urgent issues as they arise
  • Document patient’s medical records according to established standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with healthcare procedures and regulations
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of the patient within the healthcare system
