Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery - Nights
About The Position
Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Labor & Delivery unit, working night shifts. This full-time position involves 36 hours per week, from 7 pm to 7:30 am, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role requires providing professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Key responsibilities include assessing patients' conditions, recognizing changes, planning and evaluating care, monitoring progress, and recording observations. The nurse will also delegate patient care tasks and function as a team member to achieve unit goals.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current BLS through American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of start date into position
- Certificate of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) within one year of start date into position
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of start date into position

Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations.
- Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff.
- Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
