About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced nurse to join its Labor and Delivery unit at Bloomington Hospital. The unit includes 12 inpatient beds, a 4-bed triage area, two operating room suites, and a 3-bed recovery room. L&D registered nurses coordinate inpatient and outpatient care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their newborns. The unit uses evidence-based care and is supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes NICU, Adult ICU/PCU, and respiratory therapy.

The role offers opportunities to develop clinical expertise in time management and flexibility, pursue OBRNC and EFMRN certifications, and work in roles including circulator, PACU assistant, Neonatal Transition RN, Labor RN, and OBED RN. The unit describes its culture as friendly, collaborative, and cohesive under stressful situations. This is a PRN/night-shift position.

Requirements

• Associate of Nursing (ASN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program. Candidates without graduation from a nationally accredited program may be considered with more than two years of acute care experience, subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required according to unit or department specialty and patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities
