About The Position

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Labor & Delivery team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Maternal and Child Nursing experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of IV Insertion experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Phlebotomy experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Conscious Sedation experience.
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Primary Source Verification of License and Registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for labor and delivery patients.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor and delivery process.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy procedures as required.
  • Assist with conscious sedation procedures and patient monitoring.
  • Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and provide critical care interventions when necessary.
  • Educate patients and families regarding prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
