About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Labor/Delivery (L&D) unit will provide care to postpartum and low-risk antepartum patients, including newborn care. This role requires assisting with breastfeeding, managing vital signs, and performing thorough assessments and reassessments for both mothers and babies.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience and 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• EFM preferred.
• Skills in newborn care, including phlebotomy and IV skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding assistance and newborn care, including vital signs and thermoregulation.
• Manage hypoglycemia, bilirubin levels, and care for NAS babies.
• Conduct PKU testing and have newborn lab and phlebotomy skills.
• Independently care for 3-4 couplets, provide discharge teaching, and perform fundal checks on postpartum patients.
• Vaccinate neonates, perform assessments, and reassessments for mothers and babies.
