About The Position

This is a travel/contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery at an OB facility in Eureka, CA. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period. The nurse will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, assist with deliveries, administer medications, educate patients and families, document care in Epic, and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience
• CA state license
• ACLS certification
• AWHONN Intermediate certification
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• EPIC charting experience

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and immediate postpartum.
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
• Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Administer medications and IV therapy according to facility protocols.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Accurately document patient care using Epic or other electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
