About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides and is accountable for direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge. The role includes rotating in the Mother Baby Care unit. The nurse reviews and documents care provided, patient outcomes, and evaluations of care; prioritizes care as patient assessments and needs change; and maintains ongoing communication with physicians and other hospital departments. This is a full-time overnight position from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with call required.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kentucky.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months of hire; preferred upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required within one year of hire.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required within two years of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation required within 90 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Recent experience in the specialty.
• ACLS certification upon hire.
