About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the Family Birthplace department. This role is part of a Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program designed for nurses new to this specialty, offering a comprehensive 14-week orientation focused on Labor & Delivery (L&D). The program includes formal education, hands-on experience with a preceptor, and opportunities for peer networking and professional development. Sentara RMH Medical Center is a Magnet designated hospital serving a seven-county area, known for its advanced medical technologies and commitment to community health.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse License (Required)
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (Required)
• 1 year of acute care RN experience (Preferred)

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Family Birthplace department.
• Participate in the Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program.
• Engage in formal education, case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs.
• Gain hands-on experience in Labor & Delivery under the guidance of a nurse preceptor.
• Share experiences and network with peers.
• Attend virtual professional development sessions with mentoring.
