About The Position

Saint Alphonsus is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join the Birkeland Maternity Center in Nampa, Idaho. The Labor & Delivery Nurse provides evidence-based clinical care in a safe and respectful environment, working as part of a team to meet the needs of mothers and babies. Nurses provide Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care depending on patient census. The role may require shifts at both the Boise and Nampa Family Maternity Units as needed. The unit averages 100 deliveries per month and includes 20 private LDRP suites, two operating rooms, and four Level II NICU beds for infants from 34 weeks to term. Shifts are typically 7 p.m.–7 a.m. or 7 a.m.–7 p.m. PRN employees are expected to cover at least three shifts per month and may take additional shifts as available and desired.

Requirements

Prior nursing experience desired, preferably in LDRP.
Must have an RN license in Idaho before the hire date. Multistate license holders must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
Must provide an Oregon RN license or proof of application within 90 days of hire.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification.
ACLS and NRP certification required or to be obtained within six months of hire.
PALS, STABLE, and NCC-EFM certifications required or to be obtained within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care according to patient census.
Work collaboratively with the care team to meet the needs of mothers and babies.
Provide excellent clinical care using evidence-based protocols in a safe and respectful environment.
Work shifts in both the Boise and Nampa Family Maternity Units as needed.
