About The Position
Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Joints/Observation unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in postoperative joint surgery care and observation patients. This role offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 with no commitment or contract required. Flexible scheduling is available, and nurses on this unit can enjoy self-scheduling and the opportunity to obtain medical surgical certification, orthopedic certification, and much more for free.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree – Nursing (Required)
- December 2026 and May 2027 graduates are highly encouraged to apply!
- Registered Nurse Will consider candidates working towards licensure
- Previous acute care experience (preferred)
- All levels of experience are encouraged to apply
Nice To Haves
- Experience or interest in postoperative joint surgery care and observation patients.
Responsibilities
- Orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in Medical-Surgical areas.
- Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs.
- Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Hands-on experience alongside a trained nurse preceptor.
- Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment.
