About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care for an exciting Travel or Local job in Utica, NY. This role involves providing direct nursing care in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) setting, managing patients with a variety of complex conditions including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory issues. The nurse will also care for post-operative patients, CV stepdown, COPD, DKA, and sepsis patients, and will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient responses, and managing specialized equipment such as chest tubes, A-lines, temp pacers, and BiPAP. Collaboration with Respiratory Therapy (RT) for chronic ventilated patients is also a key aspect of this role. The position requires ongoing patient assessments, documentation of care in the EMR (EPIC), and the ability to respond to clinical changes and escalate as needed. Flexibility to float to other units is also a requirement.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years IMCU/PCU experience required
- Active New York RN license (ALL RN licenses must be verified via NURSYS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIHSS required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must submit updated resume with travel experience documented
- Must include skills checklist and RTO at time of submission
- Valid driver’s license matching demographic information required
- Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Comfortable floating as required
Responsibilities
