About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a 64-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), which includes 15 designated Neuro beds. The nurse will provide high-quality care to patients with complex medical conditions in a fast-paced environment. The unit primarily serves adults aged 18 and above. Patients commonly receive care for neurological disorders, cardiac conditions, trauma, respiratory issues such as COPD, diabetes-related complications such as DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarctions, and cardiovascular stepdown and postoperative needs.

The role involves working from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and the scrub color is navy blue. The nurse may float to other units as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license in New York with NURSYS report verification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Strong nursing assessment skills and clinical decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and care planning.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Use specialized medical equipment, including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP.
• Assist respiratory therapy with chronic ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to other units as needed.
