About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work on the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), caring for adult patients (18 years and older) with a variety of common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. The unit has 64 beds, with 15 designated for Neuro patients. Nurses will utilize specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo vents. The unit also manages chronic vents where weaning is not possible, with assistance from Respiratory Therapy. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, and floating to other units may be required. Scrubs should be navy blue.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU.
• Up-to-date resume documenting travel experience.
• Skills Checklist matching specialty.
• Drivers license with address matching demographics.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• NURSYS Report.
• License verification with ACTIVE NY License & ALL RN licenses.
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at time of submission.
• EMR Experience Required: EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, and Respiratory conditions.
• Administer care for patients with COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative conditions.
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo vents.
• Care for patients on chronic vents requiring RT assistance for weaning.
• Float to other units as needed.
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR system.
