About The Position
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South). This unit provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre- and post-catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke. Sentara offers a unique 6-month Transition to Practice Program for RNs with less than 12 months of experience or those transitioning to a new practice area, which includes general nursing orientation, specialty clinical track residency, professional development sessions, and mentoring with a unit-based preceptor. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice and professional performance encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Registered Nursing Program Degree or Diploma from an accredited institution.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
- NIH certification within 1 year of hire.
- Acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred.
- New Grad RNs welcome.

- BSN or MSN preferred.
