Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
About The Position
Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a registered nurse for the Critical Care Unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or an interest in providing care for medical/surgical ICU patients and cardiothoracic surgical patients. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available, and relocation assistance is provided to those who meet the specified criteria. For many of our Registered Nurse roles, we welcome new graduate applicants. The starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Responsibilities
- Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Adhering to the standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
- Following the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
- Utilizing clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
- Participating in the 10-week Transition to Practice (TTP) program, which focuses on orientation and transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in Medical-Surgical areas.
- Engaging in hands-on experience in the intensive care unit alongside a trained nurse preceptor.
- Sharing experiences and networking with peers in a safe, protected environment.
- Participating in a series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses).
