About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience serving the Spokane community. We provide evidence-based treatment to adults, youth, and seniors facing various behavioral health challenges. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, we are dedicated to fostering recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our inpatient team at the Evaluation & Treatment (Calispel location) facility. This part-time position offers a unique weekend shift opportunity and is eligible for shift differential pay. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve and contribute to the overall health and quality of life in Spokane County.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the State of Washington at the time of hire.
  • Active BLS within 90 days of hire and must maintain active BLS.
  • Basic computer skills including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word and intranet.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, education levels and socio-economic status.
  • Ability to apply trauma-informed concepts and practices related to patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience in Psychiatric setting.
  • Previous inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct treatment services in an inpatient setting to adults experiencing serious and/or chronic mental health disorders.
  • Take vital signs, administer medications, and complete nursing assessments.
  • Document patient responses and progress accurately.
  • Complete admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
  • Administer and monitor patient basic care utilizing the nursing process within the RN scope of practice.
  • Carry out physicians’ orders as assigned.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and goal-oriented productivity within scope of practice.
  • Carry out care plan objectives and goals.
  • Assist in the delivery of client education.
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all state WACs.
  • Facilitate therapeutic communication with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Complete thorough, timely incident reports as needed.
  • Respond to patient needs and concerns and escalate through the supervisory chain as indicated.
  • Complete thorough, accurate, and complete reporting and documentation of patient’s symptoms and progress.
  • Effectively utilize customer service and motivational interviewing skills to promote appropriate patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in responding to change and in working with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
