Requirements

  • Active RN license in the State of Washington at the time of hire.
  • Active BLS within 90 days of hire and must maintain active BLS.
  • Basic computer skills including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word and intranet.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years' experience in Psychiatric setting.
  • Previous inpatient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct treatment services in an inpatient setting to adults experiencing serious and/or chronic mental health disorders.
  • Take vital signs, administer medications, and complete nursing assessments.
  • Document patient responses and progress thoroughly, accurately, and completely.
  • Complete admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
  • Administer and monitor patient basic care utilizing the nursing process within the RN scope of practice.
  • Carry out physicians’ orders as assigned.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and goal-oriented productivity within scope of practice.
  • Carry out care plan objectives and goals.
  • Assist in the delivery of client education.
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all state WACs.
  • Facilitate therapeutic communication with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Complete thorough, timely incident reports as needed.
  • Respond to patient needs and concerns and escalate through the supervisory chain as indicated.
  • Effectively utilize customer service and motivational interviewing skills to promote appropriate patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in responding to change and in working with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
