About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The role is 90% FTE, with a 12-hour day/evening shift, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and includes holidays. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The RN will provide comprehensive care for surgical patients who may also have underlying medical problems and develop therapeutic relationships by establishing trust and enabling patients and/or families to verbalize their care requirements comfortably.

Requirements

• Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• Six (6) months of current independent PACU, Emergency Department or Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU or Surgical IMC experience.

Nice To Haves

• BSN
• Three (3) years current PACU experience with demonstrated success in meeting PACU competencies.
