About The Position

This is a 60% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) working a 12-hour day shift on Saturdays and Sundays. The role includes holidays that fall on the weekend shift, and hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The position is located at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The RN will provide comprehensive care for surgical patients who may also have underlying medical problems and develop a therapeutic relationship by establishing trust and enabling the patient and/or family to verbalize their requirements for care comfortably.

Requirements

• Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• Six (6) months of current independent PACU, Emergency Department or Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU or Surgical IMC experience.

Nice To Haves

• BSN
• Three (3) years current PACU experience with demonstrated success in meeting PACU competencies.
