About The Position

This is a 60% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The role involves a 12-hour day shift on Saturdays and Sundays, including holidays that fall on the weekend. Hours may vary based on operational needs. The RN will provide comprehensive care for surgical patients, some of whom may have underlying medical problems, and develop therapeutic relationships by establishing trust and enabling patients and/or families to comfortably verbalize their care requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum – Six (6) months of current independent PACU, Emergency Department or Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU or Surgical IMC experience.
• Minimum – Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
• Minimum – CPR certification.
• Minimum – ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred – BSN
• Preferred – Three (3) years current PACU experience with demonstrated success in meeting PACU competencies.
