About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IICU). The unit serves adult patients with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring frequent monitoring and interventions. The unit receives direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams. Special equipment available includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps. Clinicians must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Experience in ICU or IICU is required. Progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered. Medication management skills must include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Ventilator experience is required. While the facility prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies. EPIC charting experience is required.

Requirements

  • At least 1 completed travel assignment and 2 years of RN experience.
  • Previous IICU/ICU experience with acuity of at least 1:3.
  • Must have critical care experience.
  • 3 years of experience within specialty required for 1st-time travelers.
  • Active SC or multistate license.
  • ACLS / BLS / NIHSS certifications.
  • Experience in ICU or IICU required.
  • Progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered.
  • Ventilator experience is required.
  • 1 year of EPIC experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for adult patients with trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases.
  • Monitor patients requiring interventions every 1-2 hours.
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
  • Manage patients on ventilators.
  • Float to other units or campuses as needed, within areas of qualification and documented competencies.
  • Utilize EPIC for charting.
