About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data, performs health teaching and counseling, and provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being. This can be done directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others. The RN executes delegated medical functions, refers patients as needed, and reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documentation is performed in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines, and resources are utilized as needed. The position promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by service behavior standards. Additional duties may include floating to other departments based on business need and being placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Requirements

  • ASN - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice is required.
  • BLS - American Heart Association.
  • ACLS.
  • NIH.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
  • TNCC.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
  • Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
  • Uses resources as needed.
  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
  • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
